On January 3, 1925 Benito Mussolini states that he know has dictatorial powers over the country of Italy.

Born July 29, 1883, Mussolini is credited with being one of the founders of fascism

While he was first called to join the army as a very young man, he was unremarkable as a soldier and did not advance, although some believed that it was his political beliefs that held him back. In total he spent 9 months in the trenches and his military career ended swftly in an accident – a mortar exploded accidentally in his trench and he was wounded.

It was shortly after his departure from the military and after he took on the senior editor role at a newspaper that the cloud of fascism began when Mussolin called for “a man “ruthless and energetic enough to make a clean sweep” to revive the Italian nation.
